A coffee table connects the sofa to the rest of the seating area and provides a surface that you use daily. In this general CéJor collection, you can compare designs from brands including Eichholtz and Rivièra Maison. A round coffee table, a square top, or a set of multiple tables each requires different proportions in relation to the sofa and the area rug.

A round, square, or rectangular coffee table

First, look at the space available in front of the sofa and the walking paths through the room. A round table can soften the angles of a seating arrangement; a rectangular top can complement a wide, straight sofa. A square table works differently in a corner arrangement. Mark out the dimensions at home and check whether everyone can easily reach the tabletop. Adjust the height according to the seat height and how you intend to use the table.

Comparing glass, marble, and coffee table sets

A glass coffee table leaves more of the floor visible than a solid design. Marble and other natural stone finishes bring color and texture to the surface. Check the specific composition and maintenance requirements for each item. With a coffee table set, check how many tables you receive, whether the heights vary, and if they can be nested. A side table can provide extra surface area without the need for a larger central table.
