HISTORICAL PROVENANCE
The Dining Table Florence takes its design cues from a Catalan column shaft (c. 1130–40) at The Cloisters, the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to the art and architecture of the Middle Ages. The marble and stone column shaft, created in present-day France, stands in the Cuxa Cloister, which was reconstructed using fragments of the 12th-century Benedictine monastery of Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa. The Dining Table Florence adopts the serene, simple form of the museum’s column shaft and has been carefully redesigned as an elegant travertine table.
In collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, we present a beautifully crafted new collection, including nearly 100 unique pieces of furniture, lighting, and accessories. The Met | Eichholtz collection draws inspiration from over 5,000 years of history and art.
