In the 80s, Lex Tiggeler (owner of Richmond Interiors) works at his father's metal turning shop. When the company closes, Lex enters the world of antique furniture. Good news travels fast. Soon, everyone in Obdam and the surrounding area knows when Lex will return with a van full of antiques from England and they are eager to get their hands on the furniture. Lex opens his first shop in Heerhugowaard under the name de Spieghel and shops in Bussum, Bergen, Purmerend and Ursem soon follow.
