The tabletop’s outer dimensions don’t tell the whole story. The position and width of the base determine how much room is left for chairs and legs. Also allow for chairs to be pulled back and for clearance around the table. With an extendable model, both the closed and extended dimensions are important. Then consider which material finish complements your flooring, lighting and how you’ll use the table.
