When choosing a bar stool, bar chair, or counter stool, the first thing to consider is the seat height. At CéJor, you will find high chairs from brands including Eichholtz and Rivièra Maison for a bar, kitchen counter, or kitchen island. Next, compare the backrest, footrest, width, and upholstery with the way you intend to use the space.

Bar chairs and counter stools are not the same height

Measure from the floor to the underside of the countertop and check the available legroom. Compare this with the seat height of your chosen model. A tall and a short version from the same series can look almost identical. The terms bar stool or bar chair do not in themselves indicate which size is appropriate. In addition, check whether the footrest is reachable and how much space the chair will take up when in use.

Backrests, armrests, and the kitchen island

A backrest provides support but will remain visible above or below the countertop, depending on its shape. For armrests, check the clearance height as well. Leave enough space between chairs to stand up and ensure that kitchen cabinets or drawers remain unobstructed. For outdoor use, select only a version specifically designed for that purpose; the same model name may also have an indoor version.

Combining brands and upholstery

The Eichholtz bar chair collection showcases that brand separately. Rivièra Maison bar and counter stools are also featured within the Rivièra Maison dining chair collection. In this general category, you can compare brands side by side. Check the exact fabric, maintenance requirements, and the number of chairs per item, especially for sets.
