HISTORICAL PROVENANCE
The Counter Stool Roumier reflects the opulence of a French fauteuil from 1788 in The Met collection. The original was one of 16 fauteuils commissioned by the master chairmaker Georges Jacob (French, 1739-1814) for the gaming room of Louis XVI at Saint-Cloud. Our dining chair celebrates the neoclassical elegance and meticulous craftsmanship of Jacob's designs.
